Have the experience of washing and ironing of
Clothes. My question is, is there any other special
Thing to know about managing of Laundry office ?

  15. Hi Mr Stan, just came across ur article tonight on how to setup a laundry service, please I need ur advice on how to go about the set up, me and my wife is planning on setting up a laundry service but we plan to start from our home, please putting up an aggressive marketing plus additional service such as rendering pick and deliver at door step will it go a long way and hope the business expenses will not be to much? and please I will like you to advice me on the best washing machine to purchase for the job, our budget is to start with two washing machine at 60k per one, thanks

    • Hi Adeyemi,

Have you considered your full setup cost including the location?

With these, you can make a realistic projection and know how to move forward.

      Thank you.

      • Mr Stan good job. The article is interesting because it is a of encouraging young graduates who want to be an entrepreneur with small scale business. AM HAPPY FOR THE GOOD WRITE UP. Again just to ship in this, the theoritical aspect we not be enough for anyone who wants to be excellent in this business. There is also a place of practical experience. I am working presently in one of the big Drycleaning firm and I know what am saying. How many of this people have seen an industrial iron before not to talk of how to use it, the chemicals for removing stains is also an aspects of practical. How do you know what kind of clothe that needs starch and those that do not need. AM not here to discourage the young ones here but what am saying is that they also need the practical aspect. And the solution is this go to any big Drycleaning firm, tell YOU have come to help by contributing your effort to their business without been paid. If you can do this for 2 months you would have acquired basic experience. Thanks

  16. Wonderful tips but all that matters is the location. My aunt once engaged in this business but it didn’t work out for her cause of location.

  17. Stan sir, I find your blog very informative and up-to standard.I am an upcoming blogger who would like to learn more from you on how to write blogs on how to start various business ideals in Nigeria. Please sir am new at this your reply would be well appreciated.

  18. Thanks for explaining the different types of laundry services, such as a laundromat which is a self-service business that allows customers to wash and dry their clothes themselves. Choosing the right one for the area you live in would probably be important to ensure it’s as successful as possible. A good way to figure out which type of service you should start would probably be to consult a professional who has experience with the one you choose so that they can teach you all the different equipment you require and how to set it up so that it’s as efficient as possible.

  19. @ Mr samdara, i really apreciate your contribution to these article, thank you and God bless you.
honestly laundry is much more deeper and complicated than you can imagine, its not an akara frying business where risk is minimal some customers are very funny and you only get to know them when you spoil their garment,i have seen customers threaten staffs with loaded guns and all sort of things a customer can tell you that he/she bought her garment for #200,000 and you most pay for .it you need to know the basics of finishing (ironing),stain removal techniques, garment quality control, garment storage, care labels, packaging, laundry customer relations
i am a proffessional dryCleaner with a strong passion for the job having worked with the very best and biggest names in the industries .my advise to entrepreneu, pls kindly be patient and take some time go close to those already in the business and learn {it will do you alot of good to avoid stories that touch}if you need me
