Inspirational success stories trigger a drive in every individual. How the person responds to it, ultimately determines where his/her life would stay headed.

While many are active with their daily hustle; trying to break-even in a business or simply surviving with a maybe comfortable pay in a day job, it’s important to stay on the look-out for intriguing success stories that wouldn’t just awe you as a person, but would motivate you to stay on course till you have achieved your dreams.

This success story is about Abasiama Idaresit, the Nigerian entrepreneur who turned $250 into a $6 million dollar business (as at 2016).

Here’s how he did it!

What Is His Background?

Abasiama Idaresit was born in Calabar, Nigeria. After his primary and secondary school education, he travelled to the United Kingdom and studied Information Systems & Management at the London School of Economics, and subsequently got an MBA from the Manchester Business School.

How Did It All Start?

After Abasiama’s education in the UK, he returned to Nigeria with a zeal to use the internet to transform the local business environment, by helping companies grow their revenues through creative digital advertising. This prompted Abasiama to start a digital marketing firm in 2008.

As the months went by, the reality of how helpless a new startup could be slowly began to hit him hard. People turned him away from their offices, he felt devastated a lot, and after a long strenuous 8 months, he remained penniless without a single dollar revenue to show for it.

So How Did Abasiama Idaresit Get His Big Break?

While living in Nigeria, Abasiama came across Baby M, a small business located in the Ikoyi high-brow area of Lagos, that catered to the needs of new mothers and their babies. Baby M operated from a store, and had a network of agents that roamed the city in search of customers for the company’s goods & services. This small business at that time had an average monthly revenue of about $1,000.

Abasiama approached the company’s founder, and offered to help them grow their revenues and acquire many more customers at the lowest cost possible, through the use of the internet. The founder was reluctant to try out the proposal, till Abasiama decided to offer a 100% money-back guarantee if he failed to do what he had promised.

The results recorded were off the charts. In just three months, Abasiama Idaresit grew Baby M’s revenue from $1,000 a month, to an explosive $100,000 a month. This didn’t just explode their revenues, but also made their business have countless number of orders they could not fulfil.

This rare occurrence caught the attention Google, who has since then, turned Abasiama remarkable $250 success into an internet marketing case study.

His Company’s Growth And Dominance

With the success of the Baby M’s web campaign, Abasiama Idaresit incorporated Wild Fusion as a duly registered Nigerian company, so he could help other Nigerian businesses achieve the same feat he did for Baby M.

His business is the first Nigerian company to become a certified Google Adwords partner, and some of his clients include Visa, Samsung, Pepsi, Unilever, Interswitch, Ecobank, and a host of other multi-million dollar and billion dollar conglomerates.

Today, the 36 year old’s company (as of 2016), Wild Fusion, currently operates in Nigeria, Ghana, & Kenya, and is reported to be worth at least $6 million US dollars.

To Sum It All Up

Abasiama Idaresit is an entrepreneur who doesn’t just believe that tenacity of purpose is supreme, but is one who would persist until he succeeds. His success story shows other African entrepreneurs that to succeed greatly in anything you set your focus on, you’d have to deliver exceptional results.
